Pixelated Pinto is a startup resources guide for Calgary and Vancouver. The website connects the startup communities with jobs, events, learning opportunities and more. Our vetted database provides entrepreneurs and job seekers with the quality tools, resources and people to tap into their local ecosystem.
We’re also a boutique social media agency and offer services specifically for startups and tech.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BUSINESS?
Nearly eight months.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I launched and began operating my company in June 2015. I began operations in June because:
a.) it was my goal to startup the company before I turned 30 (I’m 28).
b.) I worked in the oil industry – I did social media and digital strategy for a large producer – and the economic downturn affirmed for me that I did not want to place the fate of my career in a large corporation. Especially one that is so economically volatile.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
The entrepreneurs that I meet and work with! There’s something about the innovative and tenacious mindset that attracts me. I especially enjoy influencing and helping business owners manifest and grow their ideas.
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
The startup resources guide is experiencing steady growth, especially because of the economy. With the feedback and support of our visitors, we’re growing the site into the go-to for entrepreneurs who would like to bring their ideas to fruition. At the end of the day, Pixelated Pinto’s purpose is to encourage people to take the leap into entrepreneurship and empower them with the right tools and resources to do so.

HOW DO YOU PICK YOURSELF UP WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?
Take a breather, hit up yoga or spin, discuss with my board of advisors – sister, boyfriend, mom and best friends – come back to the table and re-strategize.

Most people know this, but the general public may not….I have a horse and riding is my favourite way to spend my time.

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan so obviously anything that involves wizardry.
