Sometimes the greatest things come in the smallest packages. That’s exactly the thought behind Jacob Grace Designs. Meet the maker Melissa, super mom of 3 preemies and the brilliant wonder woman behind this amazing kid (and mom!) clothing company.

WHAT DO YOU MAKE/SELL? TELL US ABOUT YO’ SELF.
I’m Melissa, mama to three littles and wife to my best friend (cheesy but true). Born and raised in Calgary, I tend to hibernate in the winter as I’m definitely more of a warm weather person.
I design Modern Everyday Tees For Your Littles. Inspired By Mine.
I started Jacob.Grace Designs as a way to give back to our local Neonatal Intensive Care Units as all three of my children were born premature and spent a combined total of 200 days in four out of the five in our city. Our Small+Mighty Tees has a portion of the proceeds going directly back to The Calgary Health Trust to help future babies and families like mine. We have also teamed up with the hospitals in this beautiful city to help raise awareness for Premature Births with them using our Small+Mighty design for World Prematurity Day.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I found myself drawing in a sketchbook at night as a way to relax after a long and crazy days as a SAHM. It dawned on me that I could use one of these designs as a way to give back. I had a few quickly printed up and the Small+Mighty Tee was born.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
My kids and their journey along with many other NICU babes that we have met along the way inspire me to work hard to help raise awareness for premature births. It is such a scary thing to go through as a parent and through Jacob.Grace I have met so many amazing people who have shared their stories with me.
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
My dream is to continue to grow Jacob.Grace so that we may continue to give back to the NICU. I hope to bring more awareness to premature births so that families know they are not alone in their journey.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM AND WHY?
My favorite social media platform has to be Instagram. It was the first one I started using with my company and I have met so many wonderful people through it locally and across the world.
WHATS ONE THING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU? GIVE US AN INTERESTING FACT!
I am absolutely terrified of CLOWNS! (I feel sick even thinking about it now) I was at a halloween party this past October and 3 people showed up dressed as them and I actually started shaking. These were people I had met before and I couldn’t even look at them all night!
Along with clowns, birds and spiders are at the top of my “Im Scared of” List.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Flash travel! Is that even a superpower?! I’d love to be able to snap my fingers and be on a beach, any beach with the warm sun shining down on me! Im clearly sitting here dreaming of summer…
