WHAT DO YOU MAKE/SELL? TELL US ABOUT YO’ SELF.
I make one of a kind backdrops, décor and accessories. Everything is handmade in my Calgary home based studio. I am an artist by trade, my favourite materials to work with are silk, vintage lace and paper!

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I always wanted to be an artist. I enrolled at The Alberta College of Art and Design right after high school. Since my BFA in Fibre Studies, I have worked on a variety of projects and with different mediums but a few years ago, I started to receive a lot of wedding requests, not only for accessory pieces but for custom backdrops and that’s how Prairie Love was born.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
I am inspired by nature, I love the outdoors and that is why my business is called Prairie Love.
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
I dream that I will always be able to create and do what I love. I hope to some day see my work used in set design and incorporated into theatrical performances.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM AND WHY?
Instagram, it allows me to document the process and show my followers how things are made, rather then just seeing the final product.
HOW DO YOU PICK YOURSELF UP WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?
I just have to patient, as the saying goes “you can’t see the forest through the trees.”
