All of a sudden we are looking at imaginary people before us singing “Don’t chaaaa”. Welcome to the party ladies. Ashley and Stephanie are the saucy Sergeants behind Army of Sass Calgary. A place where you can let your inner dance diva out, put on the heels and get a lil sexy.

ARMY of SASSis a HEELS DANCE performance & training program in Canada for women of ALLLEVELS from beginner to professional. We offer heels dance classes to gain confidence, gain physicalstrength and create bonds between other amazing women.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BUSINESS?
One year.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
We both had previous history working with and around the Army of Sass and other dance related ventures. Stephanie was in Calgary and Ashley was in Toronto. We were connected by Carla, our CEO, and from there it started to bloom into what it is now. Together, we are extremely proud to be Sergeants of Sass for the amazing city of Calgary.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
Our students. We have so many different women of different backgrounds and lifestyles. Together,we create this amazing environment to dance and have fun in. They are really the reason behind why we do what we do and why our job is so easy and loveable.
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
Spread the Sass! We are expanding into Airdrie in the Fall as well as adding some more Calgary classes.

HOW DO YOU PICK YOURSELF UP WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?
Teach a Sass Class? Haha. Seriously though! Our girls pick us up and can change our days completely. We have roles as Sergeants but it’s like a release at the same time of all the stress from our daily lives. That and wine. When Sass doesn’t quite work, wine always does. 😉
WHAT’S ONE THING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU? GIVE US AN INTERESTING FACT!
Ashley: I used to work at a brewery in Niagara for a short time and thought I wanted to forget it all and become a brewer. They’re like mad scientists!
Stephanie: I am not a morning person. My energy usually kicks in after my 2 cup of coffee.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Ashley: I don’t know if it’s a super power but, I wish I were a mermaid. I love to swim and be in the water. I would love to be able to see what us humans typically can’t.
Stephanie: To be like Mary Poppins! I would sing and dance and my life/house would magically become organized.
