ARE YOU BASED OUT OF CALGARY?

We are! Creative Nobility is located in the heart of downtown on the very popular and dynamic, Stephen Ave. Creative Nobility shares office space in a progressive co-working space called Work Nicer – think the Commons but the downtown version. Work Nicer is well versed with entrepreneurs and other start-up companies who all collaborate and support each other. It’s a lot easier to network with companies and build relationships when you are an arms reach away from other agencies!

WHAT DO YOU MAKE/SELL? TELL US ABOUT YO’ SELF.

We provide fresh, clean Graphic Design for our clients including full branding packages, print materials, social media and web design.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BUSINESS?

We have just had the pleasure of passing our two-year mark and are very excited about it! Creative Nobility continues to grow and become better known by the community of YYC. I have even had the opportunity of being able to hire two interns from Mount Royal University for the duration of the summer.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?

I started my company after I had an accident in 2012, which resulted in a severe concussion. I had been working as an in-house designer and had to step down in order to recover. At this point I decided to take the leap, start my own company and build my client base as I recovered. It was the best decision I’ve made!

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?

I would have to stay that my greatest inspiration comes from other entrepreneurs in the design and communications industries who are working hard to make a living doing what they love.

WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?

My dream is to continue to grow my company and provide internships and job opportunities for students and recent grads in communications and design. I love working with individuals who have fresh ideas and are driven to succeed.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM AND WHY?

Right now it’s definitely Instagram. Being a Graphic Designer means that visual inspiration is key. I love that Instagram allows you to view and post work and connect with others in pretty much any industry.

HOW DO YOU PICK YOURSELF UP WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?

I make sure to surround myself with like-minded people who are supportive and have each other’s back. It’s important to have a great community of people around you.  It’s easy to second guess yourself or get caught up in your own head, which is why I love being in the Work Nicer space and having the opportunity to brainstorm, bounce ideas of other people and gain different perspectives and insights.

WHAT’S ONE THING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU? GIVE US AN INTERESTING FACT!

I’m allergic to lemons which is a problem in the summer with all the delicious lemonade drinks! So when life gives me lemons I say, “f*ck the lemons and bail.” – Paul Rudd in Forgetting Sarah Marshall

IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I’m a very clumsy person so I would have to say the ability to heal instantly!
