WHAT DO YOU MAKE/SELL? TELL US ABOUT YO’ SELF.
We are obsessed with the branding process and believe that great brands reach far beyond a logo. We create brands with impact for cool companies who are interested in consistency online and offline.
Our design team is small in numbers but big in talent- we are crazy passionate about branding (and doing it right). We rock projects with heart and take you from conception to launch. By partnering with our favourite freelancers, from photographers to copywriters to social media experts, we make sure your story is shared consistently across all channels. We believe in doing it right the first time- start to finish. Let’s make the world a beautiful place full of beautiful brand stories.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BUSINESS?
Officially since January 2016!
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Cait and I met at The Commons (coworking space in Ramsay), where she was running her own graphic design biz called Sweatshop Creative. We met, started working together immediately, and then merged our design + business powers to create Trout + Taylor. Cait has worked as a designer for 7+ years, and I have run my own business (aisy natural bath bombs), worked in startups in marketing/communications, and just finished my biz degree at MRU with a minor in entrepreneurship!
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
We are SUPER inspired by people following their dreams (which allows us to), and we love working with passionate people that care deeply about having a killer brand.
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
We want to create beautiful brands for as many businesses as possible. We want to have a huge presence in Calgary, and there is nothing we love more than getting new entrepreneurs off the ground. We have goals to expand our team to 4, win a business award, win a design award, and host 10 workshops in the next year.

HOW DO YOU PICK YOURSELF UP WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?
We change our perspective (lay on the floor, do a headstand, go for a run, go for a drink). Everything is a learning lesson that helps build your foundational knowledge!
WHAT’S ONE THING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU? GIVE US AN INTERESTING FACT!
We may look like innocent blondes on the surface, but we are known to slip inappropriate jokes into everyday conversations (if it sounds dirty we meant it to).
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
We would definitely choose time travel- go forward 20 years, learn all the lessons, and then come back to now to put them all into practise.
