Hikes, mountains, girlfriends and healthy living? Heck yes, count us in! Erin and Amanda are 2 of the main lady bosses behind Alberta Adventure Girls. They organize hikes throughout the year, run a facebook group that helps answer any hiking questions you might have and are here to get your mountain mojo on!
WHAT DO YOU MAKE/SELL? TELL US ABOUT YO’ SELF.
We are a group pf active ladies who want to create connections and inspire like minded women to get outside and hike! We provide a safe space to plan events, ask questions, and share tips and tricks!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BUSINESS?
It will be one year at the end of August!
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
What initially started as an event on facebook for a girls only camping trip turned into a facebook group for friends to share and coordinate hikes. From there it grew to a community of over 600 women from across Alberta.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
The outdoors and women inspire everything we do. We love to meet new people who have similar interests and we are inspired by the girls who put themselves out there to meet a bunch of strangers to hike!
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
We want to keep it simple so as not to take the fun out of what we do. We just want to keep doing what we do best – planning hikes and making friends.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM AND WHY?
Instagram! It’s the best place to form friendships. This summer alone I think we’ve hiked with about 15 new girls we’d never met before.
WHAT’S ONE THING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU? GIVE US AN INTERESTING FACT!
We stopped hanging out for about 7 years and re-connected last spring due to hiking!
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Sometimes when we are hiking and our body is sore and we just want to get to the destination we think it would be nice to be able to fly!
