WHAT DO YOU MAKE/SELL? TELL US ABOUT YO’ SELF.
I tell stories. I use social media and web content to do that. I started Bourbon & Honey in January 2016 as a lifestyle blog. However, the blog quickly evolved into a business. From creating blog posts and other written pieces to developing and scheduling social media content, I provide my clients with content development and analysis, from creating blog posts and other written pieces to developing and scheduling social media content. My services are tailored to my client’s needs; however, one thing remains in every piece of content I write: I tell a story.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Entrepreneurship has always been a dream. I come from an entrepreneurial family. My parents started and ran a bakery for nearly 15 years. (Yeah, I ate a lot of donuts.) Over the years, I developed a passion for writing, and later on, social media and marketing. I decided to use my communications degree, my social media storytelling and writing skills and my entrepreneurial dream to inspire this business. My launch pad was my blog, Bourbon & Honey. A few months in and a series of serendipitous meetings later, Bourbon & Honey, the business, was born.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOUR WORK?
I’m inspired by a good story. Whether it’s an enchanting book, a well-lived life or even a unique brand concept, stories move us. They shape us, inspire us, fuel us. I love hearing the tales of triumph of a local business owner as well as the perils of pursing passion. And I believe this city is full of wonderful stories. I love hearing them, and I love telling them.
WHAT DO YOU DREAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE?
World domination!
I would like to grow my business, support other local entrepreneurs and contribute to not only the economy, but the culture of Calgary in a positive way. I would like to create a non-profit that is dedicated to connecting local business owners through storytelling.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM AND WHY?
I LOVE Instagram! I love power of visual images to tell a story. I’ve had a lot of fun creating and building my Instagram.
HOW DO YOU PICK YOURSELF UP WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?
I need to take some time to process it. I have to intentionally feel the frustration, identify what actually went wrong (compared to what I think went wrong) and what is making me frustrated. Then, I cry if I need to, pray a lot and being to make the changes necessary to bounce back.
WHAT’S ONE THING NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU? GIVE US AN INTERESTING FACT!
I’ve always dreamed of being an actress. I loved drama and theatre as a kid. It’s so much fun to dress up and live someone else’s life for a couple hours.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I want to be able to freeze time.
