What do you make / sell? Tell us about yo’ self.
DEVIN GEM is a line of Mommy & Me matching bracelets, for every mommy and her precious baby gem. We also have gemstone and Swarovski pet charms for Fur Babies to match too! Recently, I was able to bring in a line of eco-friendly, vegan nail polishes so mothers and daughters can match their manicures to their jewellery.
I was born and raised in Southern Alberta, then spent some time in Northern & Central Alberta with my husband before settling in Okotoks to raise a family. I’m a true Alberta girl through and through!

How did you get started?
When I became a new mother, I started really enjoying shopping for matching fashion and accessories for my mini and me. I couldn’t find the type of jewelry that I was looking for and from there, DEVIN GEM was born! After months of research, preparation, design and creation, my online boutique was launched.
Who or what inspires your work?
My designs are inspired by the Mommies and Babies we all know and love. The gemstones chosen for each bracelet design represent the qualities I admire in a particular person – I’m certain when you read the story behind a DEVIN GEM bracelet, a Mommy or Baby you know will come to mind!
I’m also inspired and humbled by mothers who help other mothers. This fall, I designed a charity bracelet for “It Takes A Village Okotoks Community Foundation”. This non-profit organization is run by a group of mothers who put together baby necessities for families facing hardship in the Foothills area. Proceeds from the sale of the bracelet goes towards ITAV so they continue their work.
What do you dream for your business in the future?
I’d love for every Mommy & her Mini to be wearing DEVIN GEM bracelets! Although I started with bracelets as a core product, I’ve expanded to include other accessories and jewelry for pets because our pets are our precious babies too 🙂
What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
Instagram hands down! There are so many talented, creative people out there and I love seeing the amazing things they do. The Calgary area has an amazing number of incredible makers. Instagram has also helped me find beautiful small shops to fuel my Mommy & Me matching #obsession
How do you pick yourself up when things go wrong?
A vanilla latte, maybe some texts to my best girlfriends, and definitely some online shopping.

I’m pretty sure I lucid dream, sometimes it’s helpful for problem solving and creative thinking!
If you could have any super power what would it be?
Split myself in two so I can get more done 🙂
