What do you make / sell? Tell us about yo’ self.
I am a graphic and web designer who creates logos (both premade and custom), designs, websites and brands for mainly women entrepreneurs.
How long have you had your business?
9 months
How did you get started?
My husband is a professional hockey player and his career requires us to live in Europe for 9-ish months of the year, and spend our summers in Calgary. Due to the fact that we are moving around a lot, I decided to start my own online business where I could work from anywhere in the world!
Who or what inspires your work?
My work is inspired by all the hardworking women who leave jobs they aren’t happy at to create something for themselves. I know what it feels like to be working somewhere that doesn’t light your soul on fire, and I want to be able to help other women create a strong online presence for their new businesses so they can be successful.
What do you dream for your business in the future?
I dream that one day I’ll be able to lead branding coaching workshops for other entrepreneurs. I’d love to get into the teaching aspect one day.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
I love Instagram for personal use, but for my business I find that Pinterest is the best platform to use as it drives the most traffic to my website.
How do you pick yourself up when things go wrong?
When things go wrong I take it one step at a time. It’s so easy to be hard on yourself and feel overwhelmed when you have your own business, but I just tell myself to take it one step at a time, and remind myself of how far I have come in the past few years and where I am now.
What’s one thing no one knows about you? Give us an interesting fact!
I used to be in a Christian rock band – all my close friends know this but people who meet me would never guess that!
If you could have any super power what would it be?
I wish I could teleport so that when my husband and I are away during the hockey season I could easily visit my friends and family as often as I wanted.
