Hand crafted Soy wax candles made with only pure plant based scents. I run a small production studio in Okotoks (its almost Calgary?!) with a team of 2 other gals. We are working moms so we try to balance work around family.
We create candles in a variety of different styles: Jars, tealights, aroma melts, votives and much more. Our studio also makes candles for a variety of companies across Canada. We just can’t tell you who they all are, but when I come across one of our own in a store, I have a little giggle..

How long have you had your business?
14 yrs. I left my career in Telecommunications after my 2nd child was born so I could focus full time on my business, that was 9 years ago.
How did you get started?
I have always had a love for anything natural and used my strong creative/ entrepreneurial side to make a better candle. Started with making candles in my kitchen, melting wax over the stove and selling at Millarville market. I have since converted the lower level of my home into a full time candle production studio
Who or what inspires your work?
Nature including Gardens full of flowers & vegetables inspire me to create unique scent blends. Art in various forms inspire me when creating new packaging.
What do you dream for your business in the future?
To light up everyone’s life….

What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
Instagram of course! :). Love to bring the creativity out with photo styling, although trying to think up captions is haaard!

How do you pick yourself up when things go wrong?
Lots of swearing and a good bottle of wine!
Everything is figure-out-able! Making candles is more than just melting wax. And there will be many mistakes and challenges, especially the more you grow. Thankfully I am fortunate to work with some really great people including customers. If something goes wrong, we work together to make it right.

What’s one thing no one knows about you? Give us an interesting fact!
I spent 4 years travelling western Canada overseeing the build of cell phone towers for a telecom company. I managed a team of rough tower riggers, technicians and engineers and was the only girl on site. I learned a lot about managing people and projects.
I saw so much of Western Canada that most never would think of seeing. It gave me such a greater appreciation of my country and a lifetime of memories.

If you could have any super power what would it be?
To transport myself somewhere else, especially when my kids are going at it.
