Adette – Nine And Three Quarters Coaching Ltd.
What do you make / sell? Tell us about yo’ self.
I provide transitional life coaching with a focus on young women who are wanting a more from life. I also provide coaching support to mothers of young adult women as they transition to supporting a young adult.
How long have you had your business?
Since January 2017
How did you get started?
I have been volunteering with Girl Guides of Canada’s older branches and wanted to make a larger contribution. I saw many young women who were struggling with the transition into adulthood and finding their path. I remember growing up as the oldest daughter and granddaughter and not having a mentor or role model that resonated with me, someone to help me navigate through life’s transitional stages. As a coach, I know that the answer lies within each of us, but having someone there to draw out our own truths makes all the difference. This is what drew me into the area of coaching.
Who or what inspires your work?
I am inspired by strong women both in my local and global communities. My Girl Guide community is full of strong, courageous, and adventuresome women. I grew up watching the likes of Oprah and admiring the efforts she made to make the world a better place. Roberta Bondar, a former Girl Guide, inspired me to reach for my own stars. While the beautiful shining light within Ellen reminded me that we can have fun while being the change we want to see in the world.
What do you dream for your business in the future?
My dreams are for my business have be reaching far out into the expanse to reach for my own star. I not only want to coach young women to dream big and challenge themselves I want to become an international speaker on the magic that each of us has within to live our wildest dreams and live a life worth living.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
I am a fan of Facebook. The platform allows me to have a huge amount of content available to the public while also being able to schedule events. I love how easy it is to share information and if necessary have private groups and messaging that is all tied in together.
How do you pick yourself up when things go wrong?
I have been gravitating to more and more meditation to centre myself. It’s in the centering that I am able to gain clarity and know that the universe has my back.
What’s one thing no one knows about you? Give us an interesting fact!
I am pretty much an open book, but an interesting fact would be that I was once a contestant on a game show when I was about 18 years old.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
I think it would have to be flying. I have dreamed of being able to fly ever since I was a little girl.
