Amanda – The Visionable Inc.

What do you make / sell? Tell us about yo’ self.
The Visionable is a digital platform that offers top global headlines, news stories, and information with the Millennial perspective. We’re changing the news industry by focusing on the newsworthy and noteworthy to impact actions and outcomes across the world. Way more than just the daily headlines, we’re integrating news and information into our lifestyles, and we’re specifically making news accessible to women.
How long have you had your business?
Launched in 2017
How did you get started?
I spent over ten years working primarily in politics and government, and did a lot of Millennial outreach. I consistently heard what I personally felt, which was as a generation we want to know what the real issues are, understand the world, and figure out how to make a meaningful and positive impact, but don’t know where to begin or which sources of information are trustworthy. So I started an organization called Millennials in Politics, which evolved into The Visionable.
Who or what inspires your work?
I’m inspired by all the young adults who have positive visions for the future and are working toward them in some ways, whether it’s from internal or external action. I’m inspired by the experiences that have taught me important lessons. I’m inspired by authentic, open, heart-led people who see the value in trying and questioning, making mistakes and not succeeding, and maintain their perseverance and resiliency, and share this strength with others so we can all make the world a better place.
What do you dream for your business in the future?
To become the most recognized global brand positively representing the Millennial generation.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
Instagram. I have always loved photography because when a photo is well done, it has the ability to pull you into that scene, that world, or that emotion.
How do you pick yourself up when things go wrong?
I go inward to my practice and rituals that ground, center, and balance me: yoga, meditation, essential oils, and crystal/gemstone mala necklaces and bracelets (my other company, Scot & Saxon, of intention inspired jewelry).
What’s one thing no one knows about you? Give us an interesting fact!
I love yin and kundalini yoga, which I believe everyone – women and men – needs to try so we can better balance our hectic lives.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
To fly and see the world from a different perspective.
